I know you are wondering…roosters did crow last night but they were late…10:55pm. Their internal clocks must have been off.

Anyway, as for today, we are really finding our stride it seems. Today had this odd feeling of routine and the mood subdued. We started clinic at 9am and saw about 160 today. We seem to have made fast friends with our translators and have become like well-oiled machines. We only hope we are really helping to ease their suffering. Sometimes it is difficult to tell, but we continue to forge ahead with hope and optimism.

Oiz got to take a ride to have labs done this morning with hopes of getting to a facility called Wings of Hope which would be a blessing for him. Unfortunately we had to place an NG tube to get some fluids in him.

Our good news was an additional 7 bags – only 3 to go and we really don’t know what is in them at this point. We can definitely make do with what we have at this point. We really are living higher than we anticipated.

Had a little plumbing fiasco today – In the words of Vanessa, “le douche no flouche” – down to 1 commode for 13.

Tonight we had a wonderful creole spaghetti dish for dinner and then enjoyed watching the children and even some adults jumping rope – double dutch even. Thank you Robert for weaving an excellent jump rope for them – I know they will be playing with it long after we leave.

We are now hearing more about our departure plans and will have more details in the days to come. The good news is Vanessa Carpenter has got to depart as well so we are optimistic that we will make it out on time and with the team intact. At least as optimistic as one can be in Haiti.

We are now winding down for the evening and hoping the roosters’ internal clocks will be more like 8 hours late tonight.

Love to all as always – will write again tomorrow night.
