A final good evening. The day started with more excitement than we wished for, as you already know, but it really cemented our experience and our connection to our Hatian friends and patients.
The day of travel was just that. Much like any long travel day across the country. Now we look forward to getting home to our families, our own showers and some restful sleep in our own beds.
We will miss those whose lives we touched but moreso those who touched our lives and some will already begin plans for future travels (one small step at a time).
I feel certain that nobody will miss the roosters…but we’ll see. For now, enjoy your loved ones…I know I sure did during our time together in Haiti. I am honored to have been able to work by their side and see the true meaning of compassion in action. I can only look forward to being in their presence again.
