…and I immediately found my Happy Place!

You guessed it….the rooftop at St. Joseph’s Guest House in Port au Prince. After a long day traveling, the breeze was very welcome. We have arrived short one bag, but more importantly, short one member. We miss you Mike, we wish for your speedy recovery and look forward to you joining Team Starfish in the near future!

We do have 2 additional new members to the family, Dr. Kelly and future Dr. Maya! It is always great to add new members to this family as we will need many to make our dream a reality!

After a brief rest, we had a quick shopping trip for sought after items (thank you to our host and friend, Walnes!), which involved my first ever Moto ride in the city – very safe and the breeze felt great!

As soon as we returned, the dinner bell rang and we were again treated to a delicious meal. Tomorrow morning we will catch an early breakfast and begin the next leg of our trip to Les Cayes, where we will reunite with our good friends for the boat trip to Ile a Vache! Then the work begins….along with some fun with the kids and our friends.

For now we are gathered on the roof again, taking in the cooling night breeze and the oh so familiar sounds of the city, while thinking about what the week ahead will bring.  Please wish us well as we attempt to serve the medical needs of Ile a Vache and cement our place, both literally and figuratively, in their community.

Thats all for tonight-more tomorrow if the signal allows…

Love to All,

The Team
