Good evening! Sorry to disappoint, but I got nothin’ left to say about the roosters aside from there are clearly too many in Haiti. There is a real opportunity for Chick-fil-A in this country.

We awoke this am with no clinic responsibilities…closed on Sunday. Ten of us went to church with Vanessa C. The rest helped Kez pack up supplies to take to her other location. I would love to say there was no excitement and we all just packed and rested up for tomorrow, but on this trip…not so much. We had plans to visit Kez’s apartment as well as St. Joseph’s Home for Boys.

As we were preparing to leave we got a call that we had to pack and be ready to board a military flight in less than 3 hrs (we apparently jumped right to Plan C), requiring everyone to rush back and pack – talk about controlled chaos. Apparently Spirit Air is not yet flying despite purchased tickets – plans change quickly here and patience is being tested regularly.

Then within 5 minutes, the plans changed again. Plan B came through and we are now flying to MIA at 10:50AM tomorrow. So, we were actually able to take our trip to St Joseph’s after all and we were happy to have the opportunity.

The facility was severely damaged in the quake, but it was easy to see that before the quake it was a real oasis in this city. We can only hope they are able to rebuild someday.

So now we are able to spend one last night with the children on the roof before our last night in Haiti. We have much to remember and to thank our hosts for. We are changed by the experience and have learned much from a people that remain so optimistic and positive despite their dire circumstances. I am sure you all will learn much of such stories in the coming days.

Now we focus on our upcoming travel and reuniting with our families. We have missed you all greatly. Please pray for smooth sailing tomorrow and we will see you soon.

Signing off from Haiti for the last time……hopefully!

Love to all and good night.
