Broadcasting live again from Port au Prince! We departed 6 strong from Greensboro and 1 from Birmingham early this morning (sadly, we had to leave 1 behind in GSO). Some familiar faces and some new this year. We are excited to see Peter again and blessed to add Jeff, Rachel B., and Kitty to the team as well. Our “family” is growing nicely, but those back home are sorely missed. Another bonus was meeting Dr. Bob and friend Nancy when we arrived at the house.
So, the team all united in Miami and arrived in Haiti an intact team. Ahhh Haiti….dusty, smelly, noisy….beautiful Haiti. It is great to be here again! We have settled into our “luxurious” accommodations, have unpacked, organized a bit and enjoyed a nice dinner. Unfortunately, no reunion on the rooftop tonight but we have plans to see many of our friends tomorrow afternoon for a supper we will prepare in their honor. We have been anticipating and longing for this time for over a year now. I only wish we could all be here together.
Tonight we are enjoying the evening breeze on our new rooftop and will rest up for what promises to be a busy week ahead and who knows, our noisy feathered friends may greet us at their usual time.
